9th Grade Badminton Tournament

By Ben Davis

The annual 9th grade badminton tournmanet of Cedarville High Schools offically started today. The first game was played and some teams have advanced, while others have been moved down to the loser's bracket. This tournmanet doesn't mean anything to some people, but to others, it means, well, bragging rights. The tournament is just for fun, but it is still taken as a legitamate tournament.

There are two brackets to the tournament: the winner's bracket, and the loser's bracket. One obviously sounds much more glorious than the other. Everyone starts in the winner's bracket, but if you lose, you go to the loser's bracket. If you lose in the loser's bracket, you're out of the tournament. The final match is against the winner of the loser's bracket and that of the winners bracket (however, if the winner of the loser's bracket wins against the winner of the winner's bracket, the winner of the loser's bracket must win again against the winner of the winner's bracket to win the tournament). The winner of the final match is the winner of the 9th Grade Badminton Tournament! As the emperors of ancient Greece during the Olympics said, Let the games begin!
